THE MILLION POEMS SHOW
was my attempt to bring the poetry-reading form up to date with Vatican II -- acoustic guitars, sermons shorter and in English -- that kind of thing. Along the way I enlisted the help of some excellent poetry-friendly musicians: first JJ Appleton, then Franklin Bruno.

Q. WHY WAS IT CALLED THE MILLION POEMS SHOW?
A. In 1990 I had a dream in which I was instructed to write a million poems. I still like that dream.
