THE MILLION POEMS SHOW

was my attempt to bring the poetry-reading form up to date with Vatican II -- acoustic guitars, sermons shorter and in English -- that kind of thing. Along the way I enlisted the help of some excellent poetry-friendly musicians: first  JJ Appleton, then Franklin Bruno.

A. You tell me. Just look at these guests -- poets Rae Armantrout, Terrance Hayes, Gabriel Gudding, Susan Wheeler, Anselm Berrigan, Daniel Nester, Jeni Olin, Bob Hicok, Rick Wirick, and Ange Mlinko all on the show; musical guests  included Poor Baby Bree, Mary Lee Kortes, Sasha Frere-Jones, Franklin Bruno, Wayne Marshall, Walter Salas- Humara (of the Silos), Eric Ambel, Have Her Home By Ten, Leslie Mendelson...

Q. CAN I SEE IT?

A. Try YouTube.

Q. WHY WAS IT CALLED THE MILLION POEMS SHOW?

A. In 1990 I had a dream in which I was instructed to write a million poems.  I still like that dream.
